Others describe it as " too much ".
This futuristic knot is attracting a lot of attention due to its unusual end result.
Whatever your opinion, this issue is a topic of conversation.
The Eldredge knot is a tie knot for stylish men who aren't afraid to turn heads. And we're going to show you how to tie it. (Be prepared—this one takes a little practice!)
You can find the most popular tie knots
The Eldredge knot was invented by Jeffrey Eldredge , a systems administrator who was tired of wearing a four-handed knot to work every day. Inspired by the Ediety knot , he began tying his tie using the tail of the knot instead of the wide end.
It sometimes takes several tries to successfully tie this tricky knot. Practice it several times before wearing it in public. Remember that this is an exaggeratedly extravagant knot that should only be worn for dramatic effect.
With such a showy knot, your tie and outfit should be as understated and simple as possible.
The eye-catching effect of the knot is best showcased with solid-colored ties or ties with subtle patterns. Avoid using a striped tie for this knot—the stripes will make the knot look unbalanced and very busy.
Before you begin following the step-by-step instructions below, complete these preparatory steps:

1. Pass the tie around your collar, with the thick end on the right exactly where you want it to hang when the knot is finished.

2. Pinch the wide end of the tie to form a dimple and cross the thin end in front of the thick end as horizontally as possible.

3. Wrap the thin end behind the cross shape, crossing it horizontally from right to left.

4. Pass the thin end through the loop of your collar.

5. Pass the thin end horizontally over the thick end.

6. Pass the end of the thin end through the loop around your collar and turn it over the top of the knot, crossing it diagonally from left to right. Pull it down firmly to form a diagonal band along the right side of the knot.

7. Pass the thin end behind the back of the knot and up through the diagonal band.

8. Go through and pull firmly to create a diagonal strip on each side.

9. Point the thin end of the tie straight up, then bring it down under the loop around your collar, emerging to the right of the knot.

10. Make a loop with the thin end of the tie facing upwards and around the circle around your collar. Leave a little slack at this stage.

11. Tuck the end of the thin end down and to the left, under the loop around your neck, and up through the loop you just created.

12. Fold the thin end over the top of the loop around your collar.

13. Tuck the remaining thin end out of sight, either behind the thick end or by sliding it horizontally under the loop around your neck. Tighten if necessary by pulling on the thick end and adjust each diagonal band to roughly the same width.
The Eldredge knot is a tricky knot to tie, so don't worry if you don't get it right the first time. The result is worth the effort because it helps people remember you. If you can't manage it, why not start with something a little easier?
