      Purchased to go with a white shirt and charcoal wool suit for a funeral near Christmas. The deep red and the stripes kept this tie from being too flashy for the occasion. It was handsome, appropriate, good value for money, and was delivered in less than a week.

      This nearly solid red tie is a brilliant, almost fire-engine red that accentuates a black, gray, blue, or navy suit like no other color can (at least not all of them). There's a subtle diagonal stripe pattern, but it's made of the same colored material, so it's subtle from a distance and very handsome up close. The tie is well-stitched enough to allow for more complex and fabric-demanding knots, so those who, like me, prefer the Eldredge knot can rest easy.
